Box Service - Frequently Asked Questions

How are my vegetables packaged?
Vegetables are packed in green plastic boxes and each customer is allocated three of these boxes. Customers collect their full boxes and drop off their empty box each collection day.
What is the £10 deposit for?
The deposit is for the reusable plastic boxes which your fruit and vegetables are delivered in. This is fully refundable should you leave the scheme and return your boxes to us.
Do I have to order a box every week?
Boxes can be ordered weekly or fortnightly.
Can I choose the contents of my box?
We now offer a ‘Choose your own’ box where you can choose exactly what fruit and vegetables you want each week. There is a minimum order of £10.
What is in my ‘Premium Vegetable’ selection box?
The box contains a range of seasonal vegetables grown at Linscombe Farm to the value of your box size. This includes a fairly constant quantity of "staples" such as potatoes, carrots and onions plus a balanced mix of other root crops, greens and salads. Beetroot, swede and parsnip come alongside cauliflower, broccoli and lettuce.
On average, each week there are between 9 and 12 different vegetables in each box. Your box contents really do reflect the changing seasons so if you start finding strawberries in your box at Christmas you will know that the experts were right about global warming! We grow over 300 varieties of vegetable, and pride ourselves on supplying interesting and varied boxes.
What size box should I order?
The Premium Vegetable selection box is offered in a small, medium and large size. The small box is aimed at the weekly requirements of a single person. The medium box is intended for a couple, and the large box for a family (2 adults, 2 small children). These are guidelines only and you may wish to change your box size and order extras of your favourite vegetables to suit your own requirements.
